Common questions

Before you come

Is it really free? What's the catch?

It is genuinely free. We're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit funded by donations and our annual 5K. There's no catch and no insurance billing.

Do I need to fast?

We use a finger-stick A1C test that does not require fasting. Come whenever is convenient.

How long will it take?

Most attendees are in and out in 30–45 minutes, including the consultation.

What if my results show I'm at risk?

You'll leave with a personalized prevention plan and clear next steps for following up with your primary care physician. We are not a substitute for ongoing medical care.

Can I bring family members?

Yes — please do. We have capacity for adult family members, and we can often answer general questions for older children.

I don't speak English fluently — can you help?

Many of our volunteers speak Urdu, Hindi, Gujarati, Arabic, and Spanish. Let us know when you arrive.

Want a screening at your mosque, church, or community center?

We bring physicians, nutritionists, and education to wherever people already gather.
