Fiscal year 2025 was Kisat Diabetes Organization's eighth full year of operations. We delivered free screening events at three new partner venues, hosted our largest 5K to date, and published the first edition of our monthly newsletter.
Programs
KDO conducted eleven community screening events across the Chicagoland area, partnering with mosques, community centers, and faith organizations. We continued our long-standing partnership with Morris Hospital & Health Care Center for clinical support.
The 5K
Our 2025 walk drew 210 participants and twelve fundraising teams. We're grateful to every walker, sponsor, and volunteer who made it possible.
Financials
84% of FY25 expenses went directly to programs (free screenings, workshops, educational materials). 11% supported event fundraising, primarily the 5K. 5% covered administrative costs, including software, insurance, and accounting. We are an all-volunteer organization — no staff compensation is paid.

The road to 2026
In 2026 we are launching this new website (you're reading it!), expanding our screening cadence to one event per month, growing the 5K registration to 350 walkers, and publishing the inaugural year of our blog. Join us.
